Notes from the Director

We have an incredibly busy week this week with Winter Guard competitions, festival rehearsals, and our hosting of the HLPSUD Band Festival at the Hacienda Heights Community Center. Please make sure that you have all calendar items in your personal calendars so that you are where you need to be.

Parents, we need your assistance with concessions, check-in, and medals sales at the Festival on Wednesday. If you are available at any point in the day, we can use your help.

All students should have signed up for a shift to work at the festival next week. Non-performing students are needed especially from 6:30 PM onward to help run the festival while the Wind Ensemble performs and does their sight reading. We need a minimum of 20 students on hand to help out at this time.

Performers on Wednesday should wear our traditional all black clothing so that we look professional and feel prepared for our performances. Please make sure to take all items with you to the community center. Large instruments will be picked up on Tuesday and brought back to Los Altos on Thursday. Please take all mutes, extra reeds, music, and instruments that will not be delivered for you. Students are expected to work a minimum of one shift, and more help is appreciated. Students should not be hanging out in our storage room. Students must be actively working at the festival or inside the auditorium actively listening to the performances. Students may return to school for an important class, tests, presentations, or lunch, if needed. Concessions will be available at the Community Center all day, and students may purchase food there.

Students who are helping should close down Warm Up, Auditorium, and Sight Reading as the Wind Ensemble finishes so that we can all leave as quickly as possible at the end.
